Scott
A. Chalmers, Ph.D., President
Scott led several research programs
that resulted in advances in the deposition, monitoring, and characterization
of semiconductor thin-film devices. These included RHEED, AFM, XTEM,
PL, and electrical property studies of tilted semiconductor superlattices.
He also developed a number of new deposition monitoring techniques
that are in current use in the compound semiconductor industry,
including VCSEL reflectance monitoring and optical flux monitoring.

Randall
S. Geels, Ph.D., Vice President
of Software Development
Before
joining Filmetrics in 1997, Dr. Geels directed several R&D programs
involving novel semiconductor laser designs and configurations including
pioneering work in VCSELs and high-power red lasers. He also has
more than ten years experience in the design, fabrication, and testing
of compound semiconductor devices, and extensive experience in the
use, control, and monitoring of thin film deposition technologies
including MBE, MOCVD, e-beam and thermal evaporation, and plasma
sputtering.
